Pertaining to the movie it was made for, I like to think the barely perceptible scream at the end of this masterpiece is the soul screaming for help. At the end of the movie, (if you've seen it) you'll understand why. The scream is very hard to hear unless you have your sound blasting and even then it is hard to hear. It is quite poetic to make it that soft as to indicate that we rarely listen to what our souls say because our demands, desires, and our obsessions (A.K.A., our greed), speaks vastly louder than our souls. At least in extreme dire situations or in the end...

I really whish that exactly this version of this masterpiece would be recorded again with a giant orchestra and some cool visuals. This is the power of music and it is beautiful and frightening at the same time.

I swear this song had the “Stand by Me” effect. What I mean is…this song & the movie, Requiem for a Dream (for anyone who may not know), make each OTHER more haunting, “creepy”, eerie, & just flat-out more emotional & impactful. I can’t think of the movie without this song, & I can think of this song without the movie. So much so that I used it for a college project (in a graphic designer) 18 YEARS ago, that was a horror-based animation & website.

First time I heard this amazing music was a trailer for "Lord of the Rings".
